City Street Rapids

Wow. Talk about rain.

The day started with a nice steady rain fall, then off and on led into a softer drizzle. I waited until a nice break in the water deposit to head out for the the grocery store. It was a nice walk, not cold at all. The air was misting, but no rain. However, by the time I was finished shopping, there was a torrential downpour.

Fortunately, my dear friend Kate came and gave me a ride home! (She's officially Kate the Great to me now.) We drove out of the parking lot and up to the intersection. And there before us were waves....yes, waves! The river running down the cross street was meeting with the river running towards us on our street and was actually creating waves! I suggested we get tubes and ride the street...but alas, I had groceries to get home. But what fun that would have been--riding the city street rapids.
